And I'm back. I'm just wondering what would have been the right amount of posters to have printed? 250 sold on tour and Totimoshi has sold a bunch more of the other 100 they kept(I didn't really need 250 of these myself) but obviously 500 was to many. Whats average?
And it's not wall paper in the background it's a fractaling pattern Metatrons cube [url}http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metatron[url] which does make sense if you know anything about Rasputin. And just so you all know I really agree with you that this does not "fit" Mastodons music. I tried to have it be dark but my first thought upon completion was also this is way too bright but I was under the gun.
Lastly serious question: if you are hired by the opening band but told to put both bands on the poster as the tour poster for the tour, shouldn't the headliner be the bigger name?
I actually was hired by Totimoshi to do this. It was an extreme rush job and not my favorite piece I've ever done but I personally don't think it's hideous. This is h0w i work and the color fields I work in. A lot of my work is printed digitally and I had to find a printer in Italy to be able to get them to the band in time. I'm new to all this but supposedly both names were supposed to be on it as Mastodon was allowing Totimoshi to sell a posters for the tour to help with costs and they (M) hadn't made one. This is what I was told. period. As for how many were printed what the fuck do I know? the band cleared that and it's the first thing I've ever done for a major tour. BTW I love Mastodon their music is amazing but so is the thought process behind their lyrics and I was trying to give that credit.
