I don't feel like I was cheated. Like I said before, I love this idea, and that's why I bought the poster. I guess my discriminating eye looks for different things than yours when all is said and done.
Haven't seen any others in the edition, so I don't know what i'm missing out on in a 'bigger picture' sort of sense, but I am happy with my print.
I can see how my statement would seem unfair, being that it was said from an ignorant point of view. So, being that this 'discussion' has sprurned me into action, and i've learned that letterpress is no easy feat, as well as the fact that you don't look for exactness the same way I do, I'll rescind what I said.
I took the time to look at Letterpress description on Dirk's site, and can appreciate the trouble and time spent on the prints he makes.
That being said, it's difficult to keep in mind that I can raise (what I believe to be) a valid point and still have to worry about getting jumped all over by designer after designer. I do not know the trade, and part of why I am a part of this site is my desire to learn more about design, print, and the subtleties. If this is a place that wants to help foster talent and inspire budding young artists, I suggest that a different approach be made.
Or maybe I should just stop crying in my tea.
You guys are all assholes, but that's part of the charm here.
