I'll say this:
The designer has done quite a lot of posters, showing an exploration of many styles. Some make very clear reference to other artist's aesthetics. And that is just fine, as experimentation and as a means to developing one's own style. But others really do showcase a growing individual style and are exciting on their own merits. (i.e., the Firey Furnaces poster from this week's batch)
My point is, you don't need to do this anymore. Nix the Ryan text on all future posters. It is time to move on from that. You've got plenty of your own cool stuff going on, and you're better off allocating your energy to exploring that, than doing studies of other artists. You don't need a crutch, you're quite capable of making art that stands on its own.
