Dang Bob, this is quite something. It took me a little while to figure out what was going on, but...wow.

I completely agree that it's obnoxious to post links to other posters in comment threads, to point out similarity.

But theft isn't the issue here. Nobody's accusing the artist of theft. The issue, as phoon points out, is that this and other posters
suggest that emulating Jay's style (intentionally or not) seems to be an impediment to the artist developing his own individual style; rather than just an influence.

But, you're still commenting in the context of it's relationship to Jay's style.
My point stands.

I dunno, it's pretty obvious to me.

There is nothing wrong with incorporating the influence of other artists. We all do it to some degree. It tends to get called out more often when the influence is Jay's, because the characteristics of Jays work are so familiar and recognizeable to the GP readership.
Is it fair? no. But that's how it is. If you ever want your work to be evaluated on other terms than "this looks like a jay rip," you've got to break out of this.

Opener on this, Decapitado, is Dan from Die Kreuzen's new band. 100% metal but with HC roots still evident. Later Die Kreuzen was somewhat lacking in aggression but Decapitado brings it back in spades. Great band that's flying under the radar, for now.
