Ever notice how many gigs all over the country were played at VFW halls? I think the VFW is owed some thanks for being an important part of the American hardcore punk movement. I know my band played in a few, and those old veterans were always good to us despite their initial fears...
99 cent was the name of a Pittsburgh band, always led to confusion on flyers! They stole a roll of "99 Cent" stickers from the local grocery store then called their band that. I think the singer is now in an insane asylum.
This image is Vyvyian from the Young Ones....doesn't really fit with these two "thinking man's" punk bands...but that's probably why I did it back in the day...
this guys lettering is on all the Goldenvoice flyers from the era. A bunch of them were made into t-shirts and stuff. Life was good when punk was punk...although there are a zillion good bands out there now...
