i don't think there's Weeds live footage but definately some stills and lots of sounds & commentary by fred about the weeds and how they tried to make it in LA and there mgmt. was the same as the Seeds so they made them change there name to Lollipoppe Shoppe
and how the whole LA scene ruined it for fred and how he ended up in Alaska ,with wife and child (in the early 70's) It really blew my mind ,I knew he was a bad ass, but I had no idea.Jason will begin showing it
this fall and wants to take it on the road in the spring, hopefully having some screenings w/ Dead Moon, i'll let you know when i find out more.
I love the Rats,my band covers there song "Kids are Kids" from
the record "Intermittent Signals"(1981).I love Dead Moon more, one of my faves. My friend Jason Summers just finished a full length documentary about Dead Moon
called "Unknown Passage".It's fucking awesome! All sorts of cool old cable access footage of the Rats & DM plus cool old pics of The Lollipoppe Shoppe ,Range Rats etc.. Jason got to hang out with Fred and Toody at there house in Clackamas. so there's also some great interviews .It's really quite ispirational, the way they've kept it so real for so long.Every time I hear myself bitching about getting or feeling old(36) I put on a Dead Moon record, they still fucking ROCK !
I'm also totally psyched because I get to design and print the poster for the movie !
Thanks, it's an 11x17 two color photocopy ,first black then through the bypass tray with red. Ahhh remember when the photocopy machines at kinkos had red, green, blue and sometimes brown ink? Those were the days.
24x36 is about the biggest I've gone, I work in my basement and before that it was a cramped apt. so space and storage for screens etc. has always been an issue.
Sometimes I'll go longways and print like 5 or 6 in a row . I did that with this one and wrapped some telephone poles like barber shop poles. One day I'll go big, I've always thought it would be cool to do a one off billboard for a show. 1 of 1
