What a waste of a good name. Someone should tell David Lynch. Did they tell you the story behind the name? Who are those two little guys in your GW logo?

Phish Poster - The Arena, Albany - Pollock

Hmm, this image doesn't pop up. "The Arena" doesn't go by that name, no matter what this poster says. Albany's shed for its big shows, it was originally named the Knickerbocker Arena (or The Knick), a fine civic name with local relevance. Well, in the mid-'90s some dickwad sold the naming rights and it's now known as the Pepsi Arena. Maybe Phish and/or Pollock deliberately left the corporate sponsor name off the poster? Kudos if they did.

Art, didn't you do a logo for The Great Went?

I agree Art, it has a "vibration" or "buzz" to it, a liveliness. Is he raking in the bucks these days? I remember reading an interview a few years back where he said he was gonna ride this style into the ground and squeeze as much $$ out of it as he could. I admired his honesty!

Wow! Aside from the info on the right (looks too much like a Crypt ad) this is killer.

"i used to use fountain pens on napkins or blotter paper to do it"

OK, I can see that.

"do your drawing on one side (work fast before the ink blobs soak in) and then fold the other side over to create the blot"

Aah, THAT'S the trick.

"nowadays ed does this whole style with computers."

Oi!! Thx Art, this is why we like you here.

What's he do to achieve the irregular, blotted line technique?

I'm dreading the days when the dreaded '80s corporate look comes back, and it will. There's about a 20-year cycle for decade nostalgia.
