Count Dante. His name was John Keehan and he began teaching karate in Chicago in 1961. He legally changed his name to "Count Dante." He professed to be the most deadly man alive, and advertised as such in a variety of periodicals of the day. He was a real piece of work. In 1965 he was placed on probation after he was convicted of the attempted arson of another karate school. In 1970 he and some followers went to another martial arts school in Chicago and started a fight. When it was all over one man was killed. Spear through the throat if I remember correctly. Dante was charged with aggravated battery, impersonating a police officer and criminal damage to property. Dante died from bleeding ulcers in 1975 or 1976.
