I think this job called for only 100 of these but the printer ran it with another job so there were 5,000. The day after they were mailed out, the Lucky Strike rep realized that the clown image could be construed as a cartoon character and thanks to Joe Camel, they could be fined up to $10,000 for each poster. So, most were recalled and destroyed.
well, the promoter for this show was just hyped in the local paper yesterday and the poster is on the front page of the site. the response was so huge that we're skipping the digital output and I'm going to screen it afterall.

It's funny reading the clean text vs. hand drawn comments. If you look at my last poster, it was just the opposite - clean illo and hand drawn text. I hadn't intended that but whatever.
