I actually thought about the legibility issue some more and I think I'm starting to agree with Chloe. It's made for a select group of people. I'm part of that group and it really doesn't do anything for me but I realized last night that I'm guilty of the same thing.
About 8 years ago I did a tour poster for Storm&Stress that was simply varnish on white paper. Touch&Go hated it, record stores hated it - everyone but the band and the fans hated it. They loved it. We made tshirts that were white ink on white shirts. The kids loved them.
I think that same thing kinda applies to Seripop stuff. You either get it, which means you think it's genius, or you don't, which means their smug, exclusionary and/or elitist.
Regardless, I don't think anyone will lose any sleep over it.
I like this except for the whit suckers. The fact that some are white and some are yellow bothers me. Like it was done in stream lines. I would have either made the entire space of the octopus white or had it all blend in to the background.
Gay as the day is long is great name for a band. They should play with "Queer as a three dollar bill."
