I knew someone was going to ask that.

Mostly because it sold out before printing and my client is kind enough to honor are agreement even though the show is sold out. So they'll be given to the bands and the staff and mark the show.

It will still be used to promote the show. But people know that they'll ahve to go to craigslist or something and try and see if people are trying to get rid of advance tickets there and stuff. That, and this venue likes to present the posters to the groups and mark the event. And it will continue to provide promotion for the bands and the venue after the fact.

Blah blah blah. I'm going to sleep.

Venues have been getting fined for postering lately. And as some of you know, a gig poster has many roles... this particular client uses mostly the digital image to promote the show on her website, email and various message boards. The physical posters are used as an added thank you to the bands for playing the show and then the rest are sold to recoup costs.

Posters that are used for promotional means here in town are usually hung in storefront windows or interior walls. So knowing that it won't be postered over gives me the freedom to work with muted colors and aesthetic white space/negative space.
