You see I do know design. I know it really well. I know colour, I know typography, I know balance. I know that what is considered "good" design would never stretch type like you do.

Technically speaking you are a badass. When it comes to metal/punk/hardcore etc. you know exactly what you are doing. You couldn't make a modest mouse poster. Having to "design" something that "brainy" would go against your grain. I'm not saying you are a dumbass. Far from it you are a smart mother fucker but your aesthetic doesn't swing that way.

That is all cool too. we don't need every single poster maker working for the same band and making the same style. THAT would be tragic and super boring. I want you and Fisher and Jagger, Forbes, and Firehouse to make day glo ROCK posters. I want Heads Of State, and AA , and Jason Munn and Patent Pending to keep making "smart" posters for indie rock bands. and if one of us crosses over successfully then more power to them. Fisher has made designer type stuff, Chuck Sperry has done it, Kleinsmith has made rock posters and so has AA.

They don't have to do it every time out though to make good posters.

I don't think Richie's posters are good. I think they are funny as hell. I think very few people know process as well as Richie so in technical printing and process execution they are excellent. Design wise they are average at best. But Richie knows the audience and he knows this will appeal to them and the band. I don't have to like it to appreciate it on that level.

This doesn't mean I fear him it means I think his posters suck on one level and are successful on another. He should acknowledge the same for the AA poster or any number of "designer" posters that speak to the band and their audience but not necessarily to him. Just because you don't know the music doesn't mean a poster is a failure.

Stowe it goodtimes. Your definition of what a "rock" poster should be doesn't apply to every single poster made. Everyone gets that you don't like designer style. You are boring the jesus out of everyone on this topic and not even making a good argument for your own views. Come up with a more compelling pot to stir dipshit.

I think this series rules. I also like how the first two bands are KILLL • MORRISSEY. Artistic license or was that the way the line up was supposed to be?
