I never realized how litteral AND bad the puns were. I've never looked at a lot of his stuff until here. I know Nila real well and the girls in Bottom are picky about what represents them. I bet they hated this.
I've got one Hess pritnt for a Pavement show. Has Barney driving a steam roller over a little girl. Makes no sense. Maybe making pavement outta kids┐ You only need one Hess though and you've seen it all. Same with Coop. Ironically my one "popular style" Coop is for Pavement too.
The only problem I have with Print Mafia is not taking the design all the way. They have some great ideas and clever stuff too. But on this why block the image with black? Run the red to the bleed and have a more striking overall image and smoother flow. I thought this one was great:
but if the lettering would have been the same colour as the image it would have been pretty seamless.
Thanks Jaime. Maybe I'll give you one. ;-) This was such a simple design. Scan the light bulb and cop their logo. Hell the light bulb laid under my scanning station for a year and a half after it rolled off. That's how slack I am.
The The had some aesthetic that had something to do with light bulbs and now i can't rememeber what it is. That was the whole concept behind this. A play on their imagery. Was it an old t-shirt? Oh well it's not coming back now.
