depends what you are into. I recently went to Amon Tobin. One guy and turntables. it floored me just like a High On Fire show does. There was a DJ opening for him. He sucked. Didn't do a single interesting thing just played records and did some low rent scratching. Noel Waggener who has stuff on here runs a DJ crew called Waxploitation. They play nothing but awesome and extremely rare 70 funk and it's badass. DJs are just like bands some are excellent and most suck. I appreciate a great DJ poster design as much as one of Max's Metal masterpeices. Desgin should reflect the intent. Metal imagery would make no sense for this and this design would make no sense for HOF. That's why my HOF poster sucked...

you better start getting this stuff printed Heather. It's made to screen. You should have been in that chronicle article too.

this is even prettier in person. There is a whole other layer similar to the pattern in the birds that you can't see in this jpeg.

why does every poster here have to appeal to everyone on this site? For what this design is promoting this is dead on. It's not for a metal show or a country gig or even an indie rock gig. It's for DJs and this epitomizes the DJ culture. Therefore this is a great poster both on the design level and the intent to advertise. So Art you are wrong about this poster stinking and being dreadful designery crap. Your opinion and everyone's is fine not to like it but this is a successful gigposter.

Ok you may have figured out I got a bunch of cool shit from Thomas Scott. His designs are awesome and his final prints are all top notch. This is on super heavy stock and it simply destroys in person. Keep cranking out the goods Thomas. Very inspiring.

This looks nothing like this in person. the paper it's printed on is made of recycled beer labels and it's so nice. More silver ink. This is a perfect poster for GBV. It's big too.
