Thank you Mr. Goodtimes for correcting my oversight. More cowbell indeed. It's nice to see you stuck with one font on this too. too many designers throw in two or three when it's not needed and it just blows the flow of the design. Nice restraint. Swell colours too.
Wow. I figured these had all been lost somewhere. Cool you came across them. Here's the Long ass story behind this one.
Literally right before we started factor27 Paul called and said "dude I'm going to Mexico to surf and I promised these girls I'd do a poster for them, can you do it?" I said "sure what's the story?"
Paul: "they're three girls playing metal"
Me: "fuckin great another novelty chick metal band"
Paul: "just go see them."
So I did some iterations and took them to the show. They did indeed knock me on my ass. But Nila said they just heard Man's Ruin was folding so they didn't know if they would be going on this European tour. She said they'd call me in a couple of days and tell me either to print them or not. So for a good week it was about every other day "we have tour support print them", "we don't have support don't print them" "we have support print them" "we don't have cds don't print them" Stuff like that. Finally the got the support and found cds to buy back from a distributor so the tour was on and they were on their way to CMJ. I got them printed and shipped 1500 of them to Amsterdam to the promoter. She said "these are too deluxe for Europe no one will want to hang them they'll just want to keep them."
About four or five days after the posters made it to Europe Sep. 11th happened and the tour was cancelled. I kept about 500 posters and finally gave them to Nila about a year later when they finally went to Europe. These are really slick looking poster too.
They say Studio709 because Paul and I didn't have factor27 at the time but the work was done by us so it's posted here.
