"kinda like gene simons putting his blood in ink for a Kiss album, or also like the Red Violin... you guys are on some next level demonic shit."
It was all the guys for the Kiss comic book. I bought all four of the solo albums with the posters and a copy of the certification of real Kiss blood in the ink for my brother in law for Christmas last year. You can get anything on Ebay
The handwriting is off a letter my great grandfather wrote. Right below the Rosters ass he is talking about seeing a deer come accross the yard and contemplating having it for breakfast. The letter was from the early 1900's
regardless if you know me you know I don't rip off stuff and if you've seen
Art's book there's about a bazillion logos in it. Impossible to remember
every one of them to avoid creating something similar. Again I did this
poster BEFORE looking to see if Art had something similar.
So what if these are very close. Does Art not repurpose ideas
in his work? Does it mean if he got the idea from somewhere no one can repurpose that idea?
This is also a photo of my clamp off my vacum table as well. 100% original
imagery. I even wrote Art before I saw his post about his book to tell him to check this out and said and I quote:
"BTW I totally ripped your type treatment style for my last poster for grand champeen that just came up on ol' GP. So much that I had to go back to your book to make sure I didn't lift the whole thing subconsciously before I posted it. Hope you see the nod. I can't shake how much of an influence you are on my style."
Once again Art has all the ideas first but I still stand by my version being
well executed with the exception of a little more detail to the text
fracture pattern.
Art has a logo that's similar to this. His is a press not a vise. I saw it after I printed this. I have not seen Engine House's. This is the poster i referenced although not very well:
