5rock*....thank you for calling me on the 'shit'. i honestly zig-zagged all over the place over this poster (.....'o'brother' tie in, 30's feel...etc....) bottom line.......it's a 1935 photo distorted.....go figure.
grealish* thanks for tripping down 'memory lane'......
after your nightmare i looked into things and it got a bit crazy. everyone who 'knew' about this poster loved it ( altho i will admit now that the fonts suck ). venue, agencey and band were beyond stoked on this poster...and had no problems w/ 'after-sales'. have yet to hear from management but, because of your nightmare, i've made it clear to agents that i will drop a poster out of my catalog if someone complains but...i can no longer do any posters for any act from the same agencey unless i have complete written permission 3weeks before the show.
...our art is a 'dream-come-true' for 90% of bands, venues, promoters, agencies and (yes) managers. but having 10% of anything shoved up your ass never feels comfortable.
altho i'm not big on 'commemorative' posters here (...yes, i did one. do as i say not as i do ). this is still sweet. good fillmore vibe ( altho the blends are a bit too clean/computer). great work mate. congrats.
thanks guys* wasn't really sure what to do for whitley.....then i found a bizarre photo of him with christmas lights in the background. the juxtaposition just seemed to work. monkey nuts.
