daniel* yea, mabey 'hess-ness/ish/esque' isn't the most appropriate term to use but it's an easy reference point. obviously there have been a ton of artists that have used the same loose sketchy style it's just that hess is the one we are most familiar with at this time.
the 'hess-ness' doesn't bother me but i think this reads more like an art print than a poster. even tho it's clear the type just seems like an afterthought and doesn't seem to have any relevance to the image (....as kick ass as the image definetly is).
drawsomething* i allways enjoy a good 'turd-stirrer' on these threads. makes for good sunday morning reading. do i agree with what he says?....nope. i'm allways of the thought that whatever it takes to get attention is good. if complex illustrations were the criteria for a great poster than emek would be the greatest artist on here (....oh shit. emek is one of the greatest artists on here. bad example). ironically drawsomething gave a nice comment to a poster of mine that i DIDN'T draw. just a basic placement of some obvious clip-art. go figure.
this poster* it's a good image with great clean layout that fits the band but.....i would have liked to have seen jonesy take it to the next level. the posterization is obviously computer. i think this would have killed if rob would have printed out the seps and burned them out on an old school copier or hand cut both the black and red ala shepard fairey. then again i hate everything that jones does. you suck.
