one day. years ago. i was workin' at the record store. and this box comes all decorated with the Fed Ex Logo and on the outside there's a slip what has written on it , the place and person that the box is done meant to be delivered to. on the box it says all hand written the name of the store, Euclid Records is the place. and on the slip where it's supposed to have a name, it says : "To the Cool Person ...". So that being me, standing there with the box. I open it and inside is one of these giant hand pulled screen printed posters what says the Flaming Lips and all kinds of other mysterious things. And on the slip in the space where it says who done sent this package to the "Cool Person at Euclid Records", it says 'Wayne Coyne' and has a house number and a return address and a telephone number and everything all handwritten out in blue ball point pen. And everybody knows that I sure like me some Flaming Lips so i think this is about the coolest thing that would happen to me all that day. So that's where I got me one of these big ol' Flaming Lips posters for my very own.

Thanks. I don't know Kley but I'll look it up. The thig about a lot of these is all the fine print that you can't see. Around the outside of this one it tells the story of my personal history with Sparklehorse and varnaline, the bands on the bill. The drawing and the text come from a blending of the tastes and methods that I like about the bands, and particularly the songwriters Mark Linkous and Anders Parker. I have no idea why I had those two bottom text blocks touching eachother but I have hated that part ever since. It's a cool poster in person. He's been stabbed in the back with a sparrow wrapped in twine.

Shazam Poster - 12th & Porter, Nashville - Stephen Banes

What's funny about this one is that i recently found out that Stephen used to live across the street from Tom Laughlin and would wear that famous hat around his backyard pretending to fight for the right's of the indians and Mr. Laughlin would chase him around acting like a crazy indian. Weird and ironic. huh?
