actually reminds me alot of a poster i did waaaaay back in 1977, when this kinda thing was being explored by acid heads working in darkrooms (straight jobs). multiple contact printing of line art imagery or solarized things was considered 'far out' back then. one guy i worked with was exploring computer animation (line drawings on screen being photgraphed by an animation camera frame by frame...) actually did some cool stuff along these lines - but in motion. he went on to work for disney and later industrial light and magic. i lost track of him, but he was a pioneer of computer imaging.
what makes you think this could only be done by computer?
it's sorta like yer 'book' comment, frank. i've designed a half-dozen books and pasted them up by hand, no problem. i've put together maybe 100 magazines by hand, no problem. my own book was actually done on a computer. the reason i got no money had nothing to do with working by hand. it's just business and control issues.
a friend of mine who's a friend of a lot of delta bluesmen just gave me a pop bottle full of dirt from t-model ford's front yard. i'm going to send it to a friend who'll probably shit big ones when he sees it.
