last time i saw david perform (with bottle of smoke - charlie ryan of the u-men/cat butt on drums, a guy from the morlocks on guitar, some other folks), he's just gotten beaten up the night before at a motorhead show. somebody had hit him in the throat, and it made his voice sound really great and raspy. best he ever sounded (ha ha).
the blackouts began as one of seattle's very first punk bands - the telepaths - in about 1976. in the early 80's they changed personael and changed to the blackouts.
after the blackouts moved to san franciso, they sort fell apart (their lead singer erich werner became a street person). the remainder of the band moved to chicago and became the core of ministry with jorgenson singing.
so, 'ministry' began as 'the telepaths' from seattle.
this was drawn by a guy named 'david nobody", later called david duet. he was part of the austin scene, relocated up to seattle and joined 'girl trouble.' they dumped him and he floated around and became the singer for the legendary 'cat butt.' he wasa major link between the austin and seattle scene.
now he runs 'lucky devil' tattoo parlors in seattle.
