clay - actually i assume it was a print-out from a computer printer done in a small number and handed out for posting at a few clubs in town. the reason i probably haven't seen it is that the few samples that were actually hung up in dark smokey clubs were probably stolen immediately (or, since this is stl, censored). i questioned this particular poster because i keep seeing st. louis posters on this sight that never seem to be anywhere in evidence here in st. louis. i seldom even recognize the individual shows. so, i just have to question the legitimacy of these things - it keeps the stew stewing, ya know what i mean? all of a sudden people stop and ask themselves a few questions about what is going on here.
eye - yer an idiot. you know absolutely nothing about any of the people you attack. your ignorance is not something to be so proud of, it is not a good weapon. it only makes you look stupid and louish. sorry, dude, you don't know what your talking about.
sarge - you've proven endlessly that you can argue any position at will. so, you win, ok? what you've stated is a banal truism. pointless fact.
by my standards this is not a rock poster if it has not been reproduced and posted in public. otherwise it exists as a sketch of some private imaginary assignment. a student portfolio project that may look nice, but has no real design solution inherent in it's non-existance.
tomorrow i think i'll go searching for this poster and see if it really exists somewhere.
so, let me get this straight... all i have to do is make up some little thing on my desk, scan it in and post it here and it becaomes a real legitimate rock poster just like all of the work you've done?
i think this is a great and offensive poster. i LIKE offensive posters. no problem there. the point i was making is that if you design a poster just for yourself and don't really hang it up as a communication to the public (of some sort), i don't really think it's a poster. i really don't know what it is. since i moved here to st. louis, i've never seen any gigposters posted anywhere, so when i see things like this popping up on this site, i wonder what they are, because i spend a great deal of time looking at and for posters everywhere, and i don't ever see any of these 'st. louis' posters. are they just private portfolio pieces being passed off as legitimate poster advertisiments? i guess i don't don't get it.
