bullshit, sarge. if there's one thing that has been endlessly debated and solidified on this site its that graphic design design and illustration are two sides of the same coin. and that they are obviously subsets of the larger concept of 'art'.
all your work gives grand evidence of concious design decisions. you even called yourself a designer on many occaisiona. its only recently you've decided you were an illustrator (and soon to be artist).
poncy ponce - shit yeah you got over it! you got over it so good that you rmembered it as an example to bring up now! now THAT's forgetting about something, shit yeah!
if you ever read what i write (and i know you hate it, so you generally don't) you'll see i'm just like you. i even may occaisionally conradict myself. i LIKE contradictions. i think it shows thought and growth and change. it also shows fallability. good reason to dislike what i write, fella.
if you want a consistant mentor or godhead or whatever the fuck you want from me, go find somebody else. i'm human. go find sarge - he's beyond human. otherwise don't read anything more that i write, ok? you just don't get it.
ok, sarge, he's all yours. make him a better designer, PLEEEEEZ!
poncey ponce - i said something bad about one of your poster once and YOU NEVER FORGOT IT???? YOU NEVER GOT OVER IT???? man, you've GOT to get a thicker skin, dude. yer a bigtime professional now, how do you handle it? so, all of this hate you've thrown at me from the gitgo is personal and based on some long-fogotten snide remark about one of yer fool posters? have you read what people say about each other's posters here? have you read what they say about my work? get over it!
breain dead - every person i meet shows me a half-dozen amzing forgotten things in the this city. it's got layers and layers of secret history and lost ideas. it love that about this city. it's like r-dicovering a lost civilization. after seattle buldozed it's entire history for the third time, it was like i became disconnected from my own personal life. stl still has so much forgotten wonders in it.
i would very much like to check out some of these places you mention. maybe i can turn you on to a few things i've been clued into...
eyeball - you said it, i didn't. that wou;ld explain why there aren't any decent bookstores in this town - or any good newstands or even anyplace that carries zines. but, hey, if you don't read the rft, then how do you find out about any shows going on? lord knows nobody hangs up any posters around. how else would you find out - word of mouth?
i think i got a job for you. call me and i set you up....
