in a few years, this thing will pop up for sale somewhere, and it's going to hurt cardoso's reputation and credibility if it's such an obvious fake. who's going to trust anything he did is authentic if this is sittng there with his name on it?
bottom ine is that this is a stone bootleg (by anybody's definition of a bootleg). be sure it doesn't get wide dispersal. if enough of this sort of thing starts to show up in gp world, it's gonna be bad all around.
i know there is already a lot of this sort of thing around, but this is so blatant. this is the sort of thing that can really piss off authorities of all kinds. esepcicially record company and management-type authorities.
doug creson (string-tie) played in the f-holes. one day he dropped in and wanted to know if i had any cool stuff where he could get a picture to put on a poster. i handed him a copy of a book called "bizarre" by a fella name of humphries. it was chock full of strange stuff.
he went batty and copied off page after page after page and said, thanks. then these strange posters began to pop up everywhere. i think it also affected the band's "schtick", because they went from dented rockabilly to a strange metelaesque style complete with leather "caveman" costumes and near-naked go-go dancers in cages.
i blame myself. it was a tragedy, really.
this illus is by a demented artist/cartoonist named roland topor. check him out sometime...
