dead moon is probably the most INTENSE band i've ever seen.
do they have any footage of 'the weeds'? that was fred's first band back when he was a kid in las vegas. they had one single and it was the greatest fake yardbirds rave-up i've ever heard. even better than the count 5.
yeah, it was really nuts. a small group of amazing people working in an isolated and ignored part of the world who went on the create stuff with impact all over the world.
the last time they all got in the same room together (what was left of them, anyway) was at the book release for my 'instant litter' book. it was held in the old cyclops (in the jello-mould building) back in about '85. a couple hundred old primal "first-wave" punk crazies in one tiny room - ten years since their heyday. it was something to witness.
i got as many of them as possible to sign my copy of "instant litter". sometimes i go look at that copy and get all sad and shit.
it's from back in the 80's. it's back when the u-men toured for the first (maybe only time) and broke down in austin. they crashed in the surfers' basement for a month or two while they attempted to come up with repair money.
if you really want exact info, i could get in touch with bigley or charlie or tom. no problem.
