i've learned to adopt the habit of "lurking" (as frank calls it) after i sign off, because so many people here seemt o have developed a technique of intentionally waiting until people log off before really going after themin a naty way. i've often just sat and waited quietly and watched a half-dozen really cruel posts from people who seem to think it's safer than doing such a post while i'm activlely logged on the board.
what does that say about this place? not much good.
from now on, when i log off, i'm going back to my real life. this site can deal with itself in it's own way without me just fine. i only hope that some of what i posted this mornign can be read impassively (as i've written it) and sparks a little thought and maybe a touch of concern about our behavior here.
i miis the time when everybody was at flatstock. this was such a great site for over a week. now it sucks again.
if you read the post, you'll see that that 'shoolyard question' was directed at mmm, not you.
as for not understanding what you're saying, well, i really don't think you have clue as to how mean and awful some of your little 'quips' come off. some of them are really nasty - and it's disquised as humor. so to rspond defensivley is to lose because 'you can't ake a joke". it really doesn't absolve you of responsibility for the "attacking" remark.
a similar thing would be me saying "hey you're really stupid". and meaning it as a joke in respoinse to something i read that you wrote - especially something you really cared about..
well, that's not a joke. that's not funny. that's biting and cruel.
