the saints were one of the very best. if you can find their first album (the name escapes me at the moment) and you'll be blown away. aussie punk was as solid as aanybody's.

oh, and in virtually all cultures, the swastika was the vision of the zeitgeist, the gestalt, the cozmic whirlpool. it was an extremely powerful image that tended to equate all things toward a center power of "god" (or whatever).

coincidentally it was also the symbol of the ancient egyptian zodiac.

but good ol' adolph got it all backwards..... or did he?

the nazi's used a counterclockwise swirl in their swatika. although the swastika goes back to the dawn of time in virtually every culture, the tedency was a clockwise spiral. it's very rare to encounter a counterclockwise swirl.

and hitler didn't design the logo, but he chose it from a selection of old "aryan" symbols (swastikas existed in all cultures). i've seen his sketches. he did design most of their propaganda posters, their flag, money, banners, insignia, signs, and even sketched out the volkswagen. he also directed the architecture, uniforms, and films of the third reich.

turns out adolf was a terrific art director as well as a terrific genocidal mass murderer.

oh yeah, that's right about the "x".

but i think the backwards swastika was just a stupid mirror image mistake. i don't care what he says.

  sash-
it wasn't an "x" - it was a (bad backwards) swastika. seems he cut it while looking in a mirror and didn't realize that it would end up being backwards on his face. he also did 'chicken scratches' on the extented arms - aka, didn't cut deep enough because he got cold feet.

big brave man, ol' chuckles.
