i've spent a lot of time in michegan (my wife is from there. she used to drum in metal bands in the detroit area). i've been to a lot of places all over the world, and i gotta say, detroit is maybe the toughest city i've ever encountered. it's probably the only city (outside of dc and vegas) that actually frightened me. gotta respect that.
devil's night in detroit is like the day before halloween when it's actually become a sick tradition to torch abandoned houses. on october 30th the whole city lights up. it's very stange and scary. they don't give it a lotta press. i assume that's because they really don't want the idea to "catch fire", heh heh.
just trying to eliminate confusion. the last time thiis "steven heller" posted a snide remark, everybody assumed it to be the author/historian steve heller. then they went off on what a douchebag snob asshole he is for making the comment. that wasn't fair, especially if it's not the same guy.
never cared for gwar. i never liked 'cartoon' bands (kiss, cheap trick, the archies, the monkees, the banana splits, alice cooper, the monkees, bay city rollers, etc.) they always seemed they were making fun of stuff i carded too deeply about. i always felt disapponted and ultimately not interested. parodies of real bands.
