phil -the problem is that you have no point, you just want to piss me off and start a dogpile on me. that sort of thing is so tired and dull that you're the only one doing it any more. so, just fucking stop doing that.
i was only pointing out that it's a tired old dull technique - sorta like i'm a tied old dull designer (as is pointed out so often by you and others). yet, you wanna still turn it into some sort of "let's get chantry because he's such a pompous ego" or some such junk. geez, time to move on, huh?
of course. but that requires a level of sophistcation and familiarity with the band and it's ideals and with graphic design as well.
be honest, how often do you do a poster for a band that you really listen to and understand thoroughly? i imagine something like 75% of the work i've done for music over the years is for bands and labels and scenes that i knew nothing about. zero. but, if you have enough knowledge, you can still direct the way the scene and band ID will evolve. that's where an understanding of the language of graphic design comes in.
