Not sure if this would work and/or if would be a nightmare to control the content but I would love to be able to add comments to individual posters and read comments from other viewers as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think it is a great idea, but I am a little afraid of some of the comments and competition between designers, etc..

I would like to hear the opinions of others on this suggestion as well, so if you are reading this, please respond and let me know what you think.

I don't really want to turn this site into a big competition / popularity contest. I would like the focus to be on the diversity of the art and bands around the world.

Every poster on here tells a story, whether attractive to you or not. Everyone has different tastes as well, and I would hate to see a poster get cut down by someone, and influence others into thinking it stinks.

Anyways, enough of my babble. What does everyone else think?

Its a damn shame, but its true, Clay...that shit would probably happen. Theres some folks on here who are all about downing other stuff, and a lot of it is by disgruntled artists who dont feel like they get theire due, and by poster dealers who weve all pretty much gotten tired of, as evidenced by the posts. Still though...it would be a shame if you didnt even give it a try.
Im all for people talking about what and who they LIKE...but you know, if you hate someones stuff, just keep it to yourself cuz someone on here likes it.

I think you should make the 'new arrivals' into thumbnail galleries. I know that they're TN'd alreay but, I'm talking like 90X90 px. This way you can get around 20 or so to a page. And if your using a program such as iVIEW then it will also link them together making it easy to go on to the next image or even back to the top (beginning).

I just noticed something interesting. Is it possible to edit someone's submitted reply or post because it sure seems like it?

Personally, as a pretty "successful" poster artist,
(it pays my rent & bills, and I did it without having to
use Devil Girls, Satan -our biggest poster pop star,
Shriner Monkey's, Eight Balls, Dice or mutilated baby's)
I would dig it if the board members could make comments
    & suggestions.
Unfortunately, a message board is usually used as
a typewritten obscene phone call, that is, people say
shit about others that they would never say to there
face, like "EMEK SUCKS" I saw a few of those, and I'm
sure if you walked into the gallery where he works and you
said that, you'd probably end up with a freshly sharpened
pencil in your eye. I love it when people give me their opinion
on my stuff, cause unlike lots of other poster artists who
make stuff to promote upcoming shows, 85% of what I do
is sold at the actual gigs, so I need to know the poster fans
opinion, and I especially dig other artists opinions (the ones that I
respect, the word artist is a pretty mis-used label) I got started in
this biz by the legendary Dennis Loren when I was living on a couch.
He told me I should try doin' a poster, after he saw the ad's (low paying)
I'd done for a local record store.
My first poster was this one for Brian Wilson-
    http://www.gigposters.com/posters.php?poster=3013
I made $500 in 2 hours, sold even more the next night in which I got
hired by Brian's publicist, and had an my own apartment on the 3rd day.
Not a bad gig. But gettin back to the original subject, If the board Admin.
thinks it's cool, and the board posters can give honest critiques, not
"pussy posts" that you wouldn't say to the artist's in person, I think
it would be a great forum.

mlondon is very right. there is a difference between constructive criticism and just bashing someone because its not your idea of art. when reading others comments you have to think about how much weight the comment carries. EMEK SUCKS isnt much of a statement.
