I have been throwing the idea around about having an easy way for designers to sell posters on gigposters.com.
Here's what I have come up with:
- It would be a PayPal thing.. automatically generated with a button on the poster page that says something like "Buy this poster directly from the designer"
- The sale goes directly through the sellers PayPal account. Seller is 100% responsible for everything.
- I would also create a 'For Sale' section that lists all the posters for sale
- Simply .. all you would do is sign up.. and list the price, shipping, etc. Once approved it would be for sale.
- The poster will remain for sale forever (I don't want to do a monthly thing) .. until it sells out. At that time, the seller can cancel the service.
- There would be a sign-up fee (per poster) that you want listed. I would like some input on a reasonable price for this service. Please post below with any suggestions.
- Basically, it would be another place to have your posters for sale. An easy way for people to buy and browse posters for sale, without having to go to each designers website.
This is just an idea ... a proposal. Gimme your input on this idea. Thanks!

Is there another online payment service you would rather use? Perhaps I could look into it as well..

A reasonable price would be if Jeph paid for all the fees. He's buying all the stuff anyway.

$2 per poster fee.
See my post about mp3.com,
they do the exact same thing for bands as you are doing for artists,
but they have maximized the potential for their site.
I can do so much promoting of this site if you sell posters here, I can mention it in every EF interview I do and to all the mailing lists that I belong to.

Maybe it is good not to make it exclusive to paypal only, it is not hard to make it open to all the other alternative methods of e-payments out there.
Paypal charges the seller a lot.

No, I was just stating that I hate Paypal, I don't sell many posters so I don't use any kind of online service and don't know much about them. Someone sends me a check or money order and I send 'em a poster. I've just had problems with Paypal and they're "customer service" SUCKS. Leaving me UNABLE to use them, so screw 'em. Don't worry 'bout me Clay, go on with your bad-self, I think it's a hell of an idea, although I've never had any problems getting posters I like from this site. I can see how it would increase sales.
