    Default Question

Just hit me after seeing all the great old flyers Art's been posting, I have TONS of old newspaper ads for everything from national acts to local dive bar/lounge kooks. I don't suppose they would count as something that could posted on this site, huh?

    plantweed -

i don't understand why all that stuff i'm posting is being called "flyers". is it because they're black&white? can't a poster be black&white? most of these things were 11X17 or bigger - the same as most of the color posters on the site.

as for the ads you're talking about, i would LOVE to see them, but they really don't fit the description of this site, sadly. ticket stubs, backstage passes, promo posters, record covers, t-shirts, NEWSPAPER ADS - don't fit. sorry.

    art
wasnt there alot of tuten "ads" that then later were printed by him in full poster size?

not saying its right or wrong, but many tutens that are b/w ive been told were ads for newpapers that later were turned into posters.

well, if was used as a poster, then i suppose it fits the site. you need to have an explanation to justify it, right? that would make it ok. how about posters that were shrunk down to make an ad? that was done a hell of a lot. wouldn't that make posting the ad ok?

guess if you take an ad and then make a full sized poster down the road, its a commemorative poster.. so i guess then its considered a reprint...

yeah, you were scammed. what would be ok to post on this site may not be ok to sell to a collector. definitions around here get pretty shakey.

well.. to be honest. i still like the prints... and really, even if the dealer said, "hey its a reprint" i would still have bought it.

heck i have many 2nd edition griffins.

to clarify, i bought the tutens from a dealer, NOT tuten... before i really knew much about the poster scene... so randy DID not scam me in anyway... the dealer just said they were original and i found out later.

ive only talked to randy 2 times, and was a thrill to do so..

Didn't check the size of those Art, just assumed they were flyers cos they were B&W. I guess the ads won't make it. I've started to post them on my movie ad site. Check it:
