Add a "tag" feature to the posters.

I suggest adding a "tag" feature to the posters. In addition to the band names, and designers names, have a field for tag words. For the existing database, let users add tags for description.

If there is a band you've never heard of, and a designer You've never heard of, you may likely never see a specific poster that is otherwise fantastic.

A poster like this one below might read have tags for:
bird, news print, hand drawn, white, brown




You could do a search for "clown", and all posters tagged with "clown" would turn up in the results.

suicide girls uses a tagging system just like this. it works ok although part of my job is going and deleting tags that are irrelevant or offensive or more of a response than a descriptor

I know next to nothing aboot the html n such so I assume it would be hard to implement but it sounds like a good idea.

It would be the ultimate way to find out how many times that toe tag idea has been used for a poster.

It would be simple to implement, but as lil tuffy pointed out .. policing it would be almost impossible. Knowing the amount of 'clowns' on this site .. there is a reason that I keep the site and database simple and easy to manage. I manually approve every submission to the site to assure quality .. and the addition of keywords would be almost impossible to maintain.

Premium members can add posters to their Favorites list if they want to be able to find a poster again etc.

Not so.

I used to work for Bolt.com, we added tagging late in the game and the community seems to take care of itself. its kinda remarkable.

now i know we are less than the 35,000 members that Bolt had but i think its possible and could really help spread the word on the artists on this site as well as possibly draw an even larger crowd.

you could always have the Submitter monitor their own tags so you don't have to so in the event that a bad tag is submitted they can correct it.

or as at Bolt we had site members with admin ability that helped police such things, just trusted memebers that volunteered their time.

not a bad idea, traffic might explode.
pros and cons to that:
cons - hire traffic fees
pros - possible ad revenue
