Bring Back The Traffic Bucket?

Hey Guys,

As some of you might remember .. a year or more ago, I had a feature on this site called the Traffic Bucket.

The idea was to collectively pitch in to bring more people to the site. As this site gets more popular and more people visit, many of you (designers, collectors etc) benefit in return.

Basically .. it was a PayPal donation button that people could 'drop' money into whenever they wanted .. and when the bucket hit a certain dollar amount ($40 or whatever) .. I would spend that $40 on purchasing traffic for the site. (traffic - meaning - bring more visiters to gigposters.com by displaying ad links on other websites)

I stopped doing it because I didn't trust the companies that I was using to bring traffic in.

Should I bring back the Traffic Bucket?

This time I would use Google Adwords ONLY, and I could even share the statistics and payment history with the donaters if there is interest.

Or .. is it a bad idea?

Not necessarily. More traffic means new people seeing the site. It could help grow the scene, with potential poster buyers and collectors.

Won't the increased traffic help with your google and amazon stuff and and easyserch too? Plus more potential for classifieds, knowing that more new traffic will be seeing the site because of it may make people purchase new ads for older stuff that they have around.....

I think that getting the word out is a good idea. I would donate. More traffic is more exposure. I think it is great.
