Make Premium Membership a requirement to log on to the site at all.
actually, thinking back on mine.
Maybe the spot on the right of your posts where your classified shows up- that should be available to premium members only.
I have to say that I mostly just lurk here. I use the site to look for posters of shows I went to, find the artist, and hopefully purchase it. Otherwise, I lurk the forums for fun and research (framing, storage, flatstock info, etc.). I try to support the site by buying merch (decks of cards). Mostly, I use it to find posters and locate artists.
i don't have a suggestion, but it does blow my mind that a lot of people who are here a ton aren't premium members. baffling really.
yeah hard to say what to put in the premium area that would make people want to be IN. it might have to be something that transcends the familiarity that we "we" have with eachother and with Clay and his efforts. Some of us ante up to help support the man we know well and some people to be in with their 'pals' and still others are casual users and not user professionals that can take advantage of shipping discounts and who aren't full timer sort of gigposterers so the $10 is wasted sort of. There might be OTHER things that GP could sponsor and hold out for premium members.
the entire site should be a pay site. Extra charge to put me on the ignore list.
What about a heavy duty "guilt" campaign... I mean really... people spend alot of time on here, getting advice from people as well as being able to interact and get critiques... you can't really charge for something that has been free... but I mean a full on blitz for a short term where different designers did banner ads, maybe other things like pms or something... but I don't think anyone would mind if every other banner add was promoting the Premium Package for a month or so... plus it could turn into a cool project for designers...
I personally am going to knee-cap non-Premiums when I see them in person... and I may torture a hippy for the hell of it as well
