Search by Venue?

Hey Clay,

I know I've probably been nothing but a thorn in your side since I joined, but I was running some searches on the site and I came up with a suggestion on how to enhance it a little.

Perhaps some might find it helpful to be able to search by venue. It probably seems arbitrary, but if you're designing a poster for a specific venue, it might be helpful to try and gather the "vibe" of the place by perusing other posters done before.

Just a suggestion . . . dismiss it if it's too dificult.

Funny, I was just about to write a new post suggesting this. I'd like to see what local venues have posters up on this site. I think it's a great idea.

I think it's been brought up a few times, but it seems that the problem is that there are over 12K posters on this site that would have to have that information entered in - by hand I would assume. If memory serves, Clay said it wouldn't be a big problem to add another field to the submission form for all future entries though.

I just thought, since we already enter that info when we submit posters, that it wouldn't be that hard. I guess there hasn't always been a venue field?

I've often wondered that myself, the whole Venue thing that is. You can browse pervious posters of the week by going into the poster of the week panel and hitting "more"
