poster of the week

Just out of curiosity, how do the posters of the week get picked? Do y’all vote on them or is it an arbitrary decision by Clay and the powers that be? And are said p.o.t.w.’s taken from that week’s submissions or can they just be from any era? What are the other, if any, requirements as to what becomes one besides in general coolness? And who does decide?

Whenever I click on here (all to often), 90% of the time I just go straight to the forums page to see the typical tongue-waggin’. But, lately, I was checking out more of the recent submissions and recent potw’s and so I wanted to know the procedure.

If it’s not already, does it make any more sense to do it whereby the visitors/members choose from that week’s submissions to decide by say, Sunday night what that week’s poster fave will be?

I am, however, intrigued that there is no forum or discourse specifically devoted to "honoring" recent submissions. That is, were everyone able to do it and perpetuate the fuzzy, lovey feeling that sits out from my screen whenever I log on here.

but, i don't think recent submissions = new posters...many new submissions are old. And, i personally think voting would turn into a complete mess....i like that its GIGPOSTERS.com opinion...sorta like the top25 or whatever of anything...the only reason i go and look is exactly because I don't have a vote...i like seeing the gigposter.com top of the week...like hightimes or any other magazine.
