I've got two suggestions. First, I think you should have 2 links for the designers (if they have mulitiple submissions). You know when your looking at the 'new arrivals' section and you click on a poster your taken to a different page? Well, on this page it has the poster info such as designer, local etc. Now, the links for the person who did the work and the submitter, if there the same they go to the same url. I think one should go to his/her site and the other to their 'gig posters' page. This way people can get a view of that persons work without leaving this site. Second, I think this forum should list it's contents by 'lastest entry' instead of the first one which in most cases are old.

I don't know, something to think about.

Those are really good suggestions. One thing I know I'd like to fix is the voting system for poster of the week. It just doesn't seem to be working out the way I thought it would. We will be putting in some long hours in the future to get the site in tip-top shape. Yo.

    Hey Suburban,

I really like the first suggestion, and we will be implementing that as soon as we can.

As far as the sorting of the forum posts go, they ARE sorting in the way you suggest, so this leaves me confused... the topics with the most recent posts are at the top both on the front page and in each forum...

Yeah, I caught it after I sent it. Great response time, most don't even do that.

i think the most fair voting system, is that you have to log in to vote, therefore only one vote per customer... so if you vote for a site, or a poster, that is it... only once... that way smaller artists and new people have the same say... instead of a person voting over and over again.. i still cant figure out how i got so many ratings over other great webpages!!!! mine stinks.. i mean its ok, for a catalog, but theres great stuff out there... much better than whats in the top 10 etc..

same with rating an artist or a site... that is a more accurate and fair thing...

How about if after a poster is named as poster of the week the slate is wiped clean as far as the other votes go. It seems that the top few vote getters are just waiting in line so to speak to get the most votes.
Suppose a rockin' kick ass poster gets posted to the site - it then has a deficit of 20-25 votes to get near the top. The newer posters may make it after several weeks, but the same few posters are constantly displayed on the home page. To newcomers to the site it may appear that those are the posters in which to choose from for poster of the week.
With the votes allowed to stand week after week, they just keep buiding up and I personally have stopped bothering to vote for the posters that really rule because they have no possible chance of accumulating enough votes to get near the top. It would probably also make the contest less likely to fall victim to voter fraud. If someone sees that a certain poster is only a couple of votes from winning they may enlist friends to register and vote for it to push it over the top.
This post is not to push our posters or be negative about the poster of the week. We don't care if we ever get any votes, hell we don't even vote for ourselves. I'm just kinda disappointed in the lack of variety and the way the votes just pile up week after week.

I fully agree w/ Connie. Especially the part about 'new-comers', because that's the impression I always got.

No worries everyone. Things will be changing shortly. I've got a couple cards up my sleeve that will end this mess.

The voting system that is currently in place was a flop. It was requested by some users, so I gave it a try. I am disappointed with it as well. Things will change soon, for the better. Stay tuned...
