    Default bounding box issues

i have had an ongoing problem with dragging images over from photoshop to illustrator. whenever i drag an image over there is a white box around the image that is apparent on the other layers behind it. if someone could inform me on how to get rid of this bounding box i would greatly appreciate it.

Is this a raster image? If yes open Photoshop and use the Crop tool, then save it and will fit into the artboard of Photoshop or Illustrator.

If it's vectorial try to click with the right button and:

    1) ungroup or..
    2) expand (Object > Expand/Expand Appearance)

I think I ran into this problem before and it was because you had to save it as a PSD or maybe a TIFF with transparency preserved and place it Illustrator using File> Place
