    Default Sonic's Rendezvous Band

I can't listen to this album loud enough.

Anybody ever hear that album Rob Tyner album that he put out after the MC5?

    Has nobody else heard this?
Sonic Smith of the MC5 teamed up with Scott Asheton of the Stooges and a couple other Detroit notables. Alive just reissued this live recording of the band opening for the Ramones in'77. The band sounds tiiiiight.
If you're an MC5 fan this is a must, must, must!

Is that the "Sweet Nothing" record in different packaging? I've got that, one of my faves. My buddy got the official box set. It's pretty good but gets kind of repetitive.

Yeah, Sonic's Rendezvous Band was pretty killer. Hard to wade through the shitty bootlegs (there's a lot of them). Scott Morgan's recent releases (Hydromatics, Powertrane, etc.) have had some covers from that era. Worth checking out for sure.

smith's widow has been releasing (very carefully and slowly) a lot of his recordings.

everything that sonic smith touched is worth listening to.

    one of the greats.
