Default osx, way to add "type" in a save dialog box?

this has finally bothered me enough to ask about it.

when you open a new folder in osx it'll let you arrange your files by name, size, date, type, etc. i like using the "type" function, but always noticed that it's not available in say... the "save as" dialog box.

when the new itunes came out recently, i found a way in terminal that you could get rid of their "genre" option in its browser.

does anyone know of a way, perhaps through terminal, that i can include the "type" option in a save dialog box?

really? you used Terminal to nix the Genre column instead of the View Options menu item in iTunes?

what program's dialog box are you speaking of specifically that you want to add the 'Kind' column to?
