i'm betting most folks here won't give a crap, but for those that are interested and didn't already know, matador records is finally re-releasing "brighten the corners" as a 2 disc set, complete with lots of unreleased songs on 18 november. if you do the "buy early, get now" option through the website, you will also get a live LP recorded during the BTC tour.
At Pitchfork one year, Malkmus played with Bob Nastanovich, and Ibold was playing bass with Sonic Youth...that could have been a good day to get together with everyone...so I thought...SM did play some Pavement songs.
He is playing a solo gig here in SF for Noise Pop next month - so I would think he will play a bit from his career...who knows.
i've got a tape of him playing a solo show from the LA museum of all places from 98-ish, and i seem to remember him playing a few covers, a pavement song or two and a few silver jews songs (i think it was right before american water came out). anyways, that would be cool to see him nowadays do a similar career retrospective.
