Default i done gone made a screen printer!

today i took apart a canvas frame from an old painting i didnt like, bought a load of lace curtain from a charity shop and finished the rest of my bag designs.... i think it worked pretty well too...

thats the screen...i forgot to take a picture whilst i was printing, so heres me washing it.

and heres the finished bag design.

    me likey screenprinting.

id like to try a more complicated run of my poster designs, using the process with acetate but im gonna have to look deeper into doing it right.

more to come im sure, just thought id share.

i used a homemade screen to print a design once. it was my first impression of screen printing and it ruined me on the idea for about two years. the print came out so bad that i figured i'd just leave it to the "pros." if i'd have just bought a real screen, i'd be so much further ahead of where i am now.

that's awesome that it worked out as well as it did for you. kudos!

My second screen I ever made for my friend's baseball team was like that - I actually spraypainted through it, used it like a stencil. I was unclear on the squeegee thing, and didn't have any ink anyway.

The Ballfreaks - buncha fucking hippies, they thought it was great.

All down hill from here Kate.

    thanks

i would have just gone out and bought one (which I may well do eventually) but i have NO money at the moment whatsoever.

Its amazing how being poor can give you great ideas sometimes

oh and I used a window cleaner/squeege as a squeegee cos I have no idea what happened to all the ones I stole from my old job at Ikea.
