We just picked up about 10 36x42 frames from an old UV printer that just LOVED to leave his ink all over the aluminum along with about 2 to 3 layers of gorrilla tape.
I'm not talking about the mesh here, just the aluminum frames. The ink is about 1/4" to 3/8" thick in some places, and won't come off.
I've tried a paint scraper, Side grinder, wire brush and grinding bits, a wire brush on a drill, everything. I thought the side grinder would be my best bet, but it just turns the ink into this spiderwebby mist and doesn't do much.
Any incredibly toxic stuff I can soak these puppies in before I send them to victory to get restretched? Kerosene and then light them on fire?
I'm calling a sand blaster tomorrow, see if they think they can get it off.
