Default A bit of advice please

Im not a great artist but i have a vision for a potentially cool poster for my friends band. The image is below. I hand drew it , scanned it and coloured it in Photoshop. i dont like it. I think I will hand colour it and then scan it again.

    Does anyone have any advice.

hints on printing would be appreciated too. I want to cut sown on the number of colours but cant really see how, without losing the effect of the water. Any hints on that?

Love the bird and halo thing, the rest doesn't do it for me, be it colors or style.

Simple is good. Can't read the band name.

your water is a bit inconsistent now so doing it all in silver wont hurt

carry the ornate elements you have above into your illo below

i'm not thrilled with the bird vs viking thing

I agree with everyone. I think just the bird is a striking image. Maybe change the background to a dark gray and change the warrior on the cliff to black and nix the water and stuff?

Can't read the type very well. Could have a bit better legibility. Hic? Hie? Bic? The ornamentation is cool, might just have to be wrangled in a bit.

But, that bird is really awesome.

The lettering is not finished. The band is called hieeta. I agree it is a bit illegible. it started out as a very celtic style idea but I then had the idea of the warrior summoning the bird and the storm. I tried to keep that element of the image simple so that the bird takes centre stage. maybe I should simplify it even more?

Or even just use the bird?

    Thanks for the replies

keep the bird. Save the other stuff for another poster. They're all well done but don't work well together.

The bird is really cool. i even like the logo. It seems to fit. Like everybody else said though... the cliffs and water don't seem to marry up to the top elements.
