Default A very important thread for cat owners

well maybe not, but i have a cat question.

i got a cat bout 6 months ago, shes four years old and has never been outside. I want to make her an indoor/outdoor cat because i've never had an indoor only cat in my life.

Are there any tricks to this? do i just pop a collar and tag on her an let her out?

my cat doesnt mind being on a leash so i took him around the hood. last summer he was on a chain in the backyard because we were afraid of him taking off. but now hes escaped a few times and goes for a few hours but comes back. just make sure you give her treats when she comes back and be overly happy when she gets back too.

yup, shots are up to date and i've been sparing with her to make sure she's tough enough.

    Make sure she's fixed

Has she been declawed? She'll probably need to climb and/or defend herself

A collar and tag are good, but I've heard of cats getting into trouble when their collars got stuck on something and they couldn't escape. They make break away collars to get around that, but then you've got a cat with no I.D. and she could get picked up.

I had my cats microchipped. They're both indoor cats but one of them is too smart for his own good. Having them chipped works so that in case the pound picks them up, they can scan them, check the registration number, and contact you to let you know they found teh kitteh

    or get one of these
