    Default Floetrol to housepaint ratio?

    hey all,

I've been adding a couple tablespoons of retarder to every quart or so of housepaint to keep the housepaint from drying in the screen. I was at the paint store today and decided to pick up some floetrol to give it a try. What i'm wondering is how much Floetrol i should be using. Will just a few tablespoons work like retarder?

    thanks

Last time I used Floetrol I added about 10%. That was most likely too much because it lightened the pigment a bit. Didn't dry in the screen at all though. Last printing I did with no additives and still got no drying, however, I live in the Bay Area and it's pretty damp here year round.

try printing without floetrol. if you have problems, ad a tablespoon per quart.

if you're mixing in retarder, you should be good.

my biggest beef with printing with housepaint is that is significantly wets the paper. on thin paper it buckles and looks quite pooey

chloe and yannick print on super super thin sheets with house paint. as far as i know they don't use floetrol, and they like it super thin.
