Cheap and inexpensive alternative to using hinge clamps (under $7)
After going to my local silkscreening supply store, Cosmex Graphics, i found out that hinge clamps were going to be fairly expensive. They were going to charge me $45 for a pair of those things !!!!!
after looking around in hardware stores, my only option was speedball's hinges. .. until I emailed my teacher and got a response. This is what he showed me:
this could be very useful for noobs or people on a budget. I will be fixing up all my new equipment this weekend and i'll report back to see how well it works.
But hinge clamps: $20 online.
And then you don't need much clearance on the back side of your table.
Thats great for a cheap alternative and/or the hobbiest who prints for fun!
People do things for fun?
That puts me out of business!
(excellent idea though...but big assed clamps and piano hinge will cost near $20...)
that's funny. makes good sense if you got that stuff lying around though.

I stopped f**king around about 10 minutes into my printing career (about 8 years ago) and bought a set of hinges. They where my first and only set ever bought
wouldnt the weight og the clamps make the screen fall back all of the time? I would just buy clamps, theyre not THAT expensive...20 bucks....

I agree, just buy the screen clamps. I enjoy you're makeshift setup. But standard clamps can be found for cheap.
