    Default Stinking Lizaveta

Just played a show with these guys. Awesome. Great all instumental band. They've been around for years, but I've never heard of them before. One of the most entertaining bands I have seen in a long long time.

They used to run a speakeasy in West Philly...like, jeez, ten years ago, that I used to frequent.

sort of abrasive, in a good way. same sort of sound as circus lupus, trenchmouth, nation of ulysses, etc.

saw them at the fireside bowl maybe eight years ago.

am always impressed by (a) female drummers who (b) play really well (c) while wearing a dress.

also, they had an electric upright bass, which somewhow was acceptable.

i can't think of another situation where an upright electric bass is a good idea.
most of the time we never fish!

Right on. I'm not into the upright much either, but when you can move around the neck like that guy I don't really care what you're playing. Same sort of thing with Split Lip Rayfield, except I don't know if what that guys plays qualifies as a bass. It's like a gas tank with a rod and one string. Another very entertaining act, by the way.
