    Default The Wipers

I really played the hell out of their records in college- just picked up the insanely low priced 3 cd box on Greg Sage's site ( http://www.zenorecords.com ) for 17 bucks or something. First 3 records, "Is this real", "Youth of America", and "Over the Edge".

Damn that stuff holds up well over time. Rockin to "doomtown" right now.

    Amazing shit.

    I can't believe my eyes
    Can't see so clearly
A thick dark cloud is hanging all about me
    Suffocating me suffocating me
    Invasion from the outside
    Works its way inward
    Feeling like a bead
Of cold ice forming in a chamber
    Of lost illustion

    Window shop for love
    Window shop for love
    Want it so much
    Look but don't touch

One of the most amazing things I've ever seen: I was playing with a band in Hannover, Germany, in this big squat/autonomous zone type place. After we played the place turned into an all-night disco and filled up with hundreds of out-of-their-minds Germans. The DJ played Window Shop For Love, and the whole place exploded, everyone jumping up and down, everyone knew all the words.

I would give up a kidney to do a Wipers poster.

"Every single Crosshair poster I've ever seen is almost exactly the same. Do these guys even have a bit of creativity in them? I mean, come one - shitty old building pics photoshopped with text over them. Pretty pathetic to say the least."

"it just seems like so little effort is put into creating this? am i missing something?"

When i figured out the riff to 'Return of the Rat', last year, I felt like James Marshall Hendrix, esquire.....

But then figuring out 'Get Ur Freak On' did too.....I amaze myself easily.....'
